An action packed sports calandar this month has kept Tigers and their fans on the move. Cushing Tiger wrestlers kicked off a busy week on Tuesday as they hosted their annual homecoming ceremony folllowed by a friendly dual against Stillwater; while both the Cushing Tiger and Lady Tiger basketball teams went up against Perkins-Tryon last Friday.

The 2018 Cushing Tiger Wrestling Homecoming ceremony was held on Tuesday, January 9th; prior to the Tiger wrestling dual against Stillwater Pioneers.

Members of  this years' Cushing Tiger Wrestling Homecoming Court were seniors Taylor Short, Avery Willman, Collin Dawes and Tristan Blake. Our Cushing High School Seniors, Billy Simpson and Jamie Tarver were named Tiger Wrestling Homecoming King and Queen for the 2018 year.

While Billy was unable to attend the Homecoming ceremony personally, family and friends made great efforts to ensure that he still didn't miss a thing last Tuesday night. One such family member, younger brother Kaiser Simpson, was even able to attend the Homecoming ceremony and accept the crown in his brother Billy's stead.

With cheerful festivities like a Homecoming ceremony to set the tone on Tuesday afternoon, Cushing Tigers found more cause to celebrate with their 46 to 31 defeat over the Stillwater Pioneers.

Even though the Cleveland/Mannford wrestling team overtook Tigers by a small margin (39-34), Cushing wrestlers remained in good spirits and look forward to their next dual on Tuesday against the Perry Maroons.

Cushing Lady Tigers split games this week with one of each - a 35/15 victory over Berryhill Maidens - and a loss of 46-38 in favor of Perkins.
