Coach York gave RDMGtv an overview of the games last night:

Cushing came out the first game and beat them 10-0 in 5 innings and then Blackwell beat us the 2nd game 5-3.

We finish 4th in our District and will face the 5 seed in District 6 which will be Miami or Vinita, whoever loses that game on Monday will be who we face at Cushing for the Bi-Districts starting on Thursday 9/28 which is a 3 game series.

We finished 7-5 in District play.

Game 1 lastnight we had 11 hits off of a tough Blackwell pitcher. We came out in the first 2 innings and scored 4 runs in the 1st and 2nd inning to take an 8-0 lead in 2 innings.

Kennedy Holderread, Rachel Sherwood, Kaitlyn Turner, and Jolie Boyle were all 2 for 3. Boyle having 2 RBI and Holderread having 3 RBI. Others getting hits were Riley Payne with a double, Katelyn Carrier a single and Jenna Hood a single.

Junior pitcher Jolie Boyle pitched a shutout game throwing all 5 innings, striking out 1 and only allowing 4 hits.

Game 2

The 2nd game we wasn't able to score on Blackwells pitcher until the 6th inning. Blackwell got 1 run in the 3rd inning and led 1-0 in 6 innings. After the 6th, the score was 2-1 Blackwell.

We had 5 hits in the game. Kennedy Holderread was 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs. Megan Lee hit a double, and Riley Payne and Kaitlyn Turner were our only other hits for the game.

Jolie Boyle pitched another great game going 6 innings giving up 6 hits, striking out 2 and walking one. Katelyn Carrier came in during the 7th inning.

We left a lot of runners on base. Just couldn't come up with a timely hit. We had bases loaded in the bottom of the 6th and ended the game with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the 7th. Blackwells pitcher, Lynsey Ailey is tough. We had a great plan against her and hit her well. The 2nd game we just couldn't come up with the timely hit.

Now we wait and see Monday who wins the Miami/Vinita game. Whoever loses will be who we face in Bi-Districts.

We are 18-14 overall.
