Anticipation and excitement filled the stadium during Friday night's break for halftime as Cushing Tiger Football fans were introduced to the 2017 Homecoming Court. Among the candidates for this year's Homecoming King were seniors D'Angelo Wilkins, escorting Homecoming Queen candidate Sable Destini Harp; senior Ryan Hood, escorting Queen candidate Alexus Paige Hurst; senior Christian "Ponyboy" Ryan, escorting Queen candidate Trinity Jackson; senior Kade Holderread escorting Homecoming Queen candidate Taylor Short; and senior Patrick James Viator, escorting Queen candidate Konnor Smith.
Assisting in the ceremony were Miss McKenyah Harp as flower girl and Tate Hancock as crown bearer.
Cushing City Commissioner, Don Amon, introduced Tiger fans to thier 2017 Homecoming Court and announced Viator as this year's Homecoming King and Konnor Smith as Queen. The crowd's approval was apparent and as the winners received their crowns and shared an unexpectedly long kiss, cheers turned to whoops and wolf whistles, bringing the ceremony to an end.
