Coach York Leads Lady Tigers to District Championship

"I love watching the young ladies that I coach as they develop and become great players of a game they love," said Lady Tiger coach, Nikki York, regarding her softball team. Now in her fourth year as Cushing's head softball coach, York brings over a decade of experience to her role with a total 13 years of coaching under her belt - and she intends to use it. "We are really excited about this year and we have a big goal in mind. To bring home a State Championship."

A life-long athlete herself, York knows first hand how to prioritize goals for her softball team. "Sometimes as a coach the challenging part is keeping your athletes healthy. It's motivating all of them each day, knowing that every time you take the field it's going to be a BIG game."
