Cushing Tiger head football coach, Barrett Shupe, expresses pride and excitement in a post game interview held directly after last Friday night's win. "I don't want anyone to take for granted beating a quality team," Shupe says. "We were in a dog fight and we found a way to win."
Beginning his seventh year as head coach for the Tigers, Shupe maintains a style of coaching that begins with making sure his team is close knit and able to trust one another on the field. About his team this season, Shupe says, "I love that our kids have each other's backs. It's gonna click and when it does we're gonna be really tough."
Last week's win makes the third in a row for Tigers victory over Perkins rival and expectations are high for the team to do well at the away game hosted in Mannford this Friday, September 1st.
