Loss to Sperry Concludes Season For Cushing Tigers

"Tonight didn't go our way but that's not going to define us."

A proud coach expresses gratitude and pride in a final BOC interview held after Friday's game. "It's been a crazy year to say the least but to me, if you finish strong it's a success."

The 52-13 loss to Sperry Pirates brings the Tigers' 2017 record to a final 6-5 and concludes their running in this year's Varsity Playoffs. The loss was not a bitter one as Tiger coaches and fans already have their sights set on next season's possibilities.  "I just don't want tonight to sour anyone," says Head Coach, Barrett Shupe.  "This team overcame quite a few obstacles but we stayed on course and found a way into playoffs. This one game can't define what our program has done."

A final touchdown by #24 Landon Kimmel makes this week's Play of the Game status, while #6 Hunter Puls was selected by RDMG Commentators as this game's MVP. Congratulations Landon and Hunter!

Win, lose or draw - the end of a football season is always a sad day for many. The Tigers, however, look forward to seeing fans next year as they achieve even higher goals and set new records for our little town of Cushing.
