#15 Ranked Cushing falls to #1 Perry on the Mats

Cushing faced a tough Perry team Tuesday at Perry. The Maroons steeped in wrestling tradition successful dismantled the Cushing Tigers following their Homecoming festivities. Olympian and NCAA wrestling champion and Legend Danny Hodge who resides in Perry was also on hand for the evening activities.

Tigers fell to the Maroons 60 to 9 by the end of the final match. There was a bit of controversy in the 126# weight class match with Jake Ahrberg and Bryson Justus. Both wrestlers were state finalist last year, so this would be a key match during the dual. Ahrberg was awarded a 2 point take down with only 2 seconds left. The official waved off the take down and Justus got the decision. RDMG crew Mike Kennedy and Trent Fitje were there to comment on the action.

Billy Simpson was awarded a forfeit. Gage Hockett got a fall in the 1st period in his match. Wes Ahrberg got a decision to claim the only points for the tigers.

Cushing Travels to Cleveland Thursday January 19th for their next Dual Competition.
