Continuing Coverage of Lady Tiger Softball: Home Opener Double Header

Lady TiGERS split two games in yesterday's double header home opener, bringing the Lady Tigers to 3-1 on the season.

Cushing started off slow trailing in the first two innings against Blackwell, but the bats came alive in the 3rd, with back to back to back home runs. One home run by Vasquez was a grand slam. Propelling the Lady tigers to a 18 to 6 victory over Blackwell.

In the second game of the double header, the Lady Tigers muster 4 hits, drop 11-1 contest to Beggs, Tuesday despite Megan Stump's two-hit day at the dish

Home runs for Beggs came when #14 homered in the first inning, #17 homered in the third inning, and #21 homered in the first and fourth innings.

Josie Hood couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Lady Tigers , taking a loss. She allowed 11 runs in five innings, walked five and struck out none.

The lead stayed with Beggs after the first, when it scored five runs on an RBI double by #4, two two-run blasts, and an RBI single by #17.The lone run of the game for Cushing crossed the plate in the first inning on a solo home run by Megan Stump.

Lady TiGERS are back in action Thursday in Stroud.
