This weeks that spotlight focuses on numbers: that is sheer numbers of runners and receivers. The Tigers had eight separate ball carriers, and five separate receivers as they cruised to an easy victory over the Kellyville Ponies on Friday night.
Matt Yates was the workhorse back for Cushing with 5 carries. He gained 120 yards on those few totes and found the end zone twice. Cushing only ran 34 total plays at Kellyville, well down from their season average of 50 plays per game. Jory Wiley add 4 runs for 35 yards and a score, and Trey Morris had 2 totes for 30 yards and 6 points. Other runners included Kase Holderread, Nick Larson, Grant Yates, Jansen Callanan and Andrew Mitchell.
Kade Holderread connected on seven of his ten passes for 80 yards and a score. The Touchdown was hauled in by Patrick Viator. England Honeybuss led the receivers with three catches for 44 yards. Trey Morris and Kory Wiley also had receptions.
