This weeks Stats Spotlight focuses on the air attack mounted by the Tigers. It was clear early that the Dewey Bulldoggers had decided that they were not going to let the Twin Hammers pound away at them all night and the challenged Kade Holderread and his receivers to beat them. The Tigers rose to the challenge.
Holderread finished the night 12 of 18 for 289 yards and 3 TDs with 1 INT. he targeted only 4 receivers on the night: once to Matt Yates; twice to Jackson Wharry; and the rest to his pair of outstanding Senior targets of Trey Morris and England Honeybuss. Honeybuss hauled in 6 passes for 78 yards and a Touchdown. Morris caught 5 for 181 yards and 2 Touchdowns. Wharry's catch (for 29 yards) served to help open up the field for Cushing.
Dewey's defense did a superb job containing the Tiger runners. Kory Wiley toted the ball 22 times for only 69 yards, far below his average. Morris and Yates were also held in check with Morris carrying 3 times for 11 yards and Yates gaining 14 yards on 7 touches. But Dewey paid the price of plugging the run.
